A North Hawai‘i hospital announces that is now has COVID-19 vaccinations for younger keiki.
Queen’s North Hawai‘i Community Hospital in Waimea is offering vaccinations for children as young as 6 months old. The Pfizer vaccine for keiki ages 6 months to 4 years old is one-tenth of the adult dose, with three shots necessary.
The first two shots are administered three weeks apart from each other and the third does is given two months later.
Vaccination for this youngest age group is available by appointment only on Wednesdays. Appointments can be made by calling 808-881-4668.
COVID vaccinations also continue to be available for everyone 5 and older. No appointment is necessary for this age group at the QNHCH vaccination clinic, which is open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesdays.

The COVID vaccination clinic is located in the annex on the south side of the hospital’s campus near the emergency room. Those younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
